Destination Wedding in Tuscany: Borgo Stomennano

An ethereal weekend at Borgo Stomennano: three days of deep emotion, explosive joy, and a ceremony that felt like a movie script. Imagine a soft, transparent rain falling just as the sun breaks through the clouds, ending in the most spectacular rainbow we’ve ever witnessed – as one says, the rain was a paid actor for this one! This was just a glimpse of the magic of Sophie and Matt’s celebration in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.

The weekend began with an intimate welcome dinner for their inner circle, followed by a vibrant cocktail party in the villa’s frescoed halls. It was the perfect “get-together” to set a sophisticated yet warm tone for the days to follow.

The wedding morning was filled with quiet, meaningful moments. While Matt and his groomsmen shared stories over a heartfelt notebook detailing his and Sophie’s love, the bride spent her morning with her closest friends.

For their wedding at Borgo Stomennano, they chose an evocative palette of dark red, plum, and ivory. As they exchanged vows, a soft “sun-shower” began.

The reception was a masterclass in Italian elegance from the Italian-style aperitif and a table set decorated with statues, flowers, and produce to the long, curved imperial table with draped linens and a sea of flickering candles. Before sitting down to dinner, we stole the couple away for a portrait session, playing with the soft Tuscan light and the ethereal movement of Sophie’s long, embroidered veil.

The festivities didn’t end with the midnight dances. The following day was a “peak summer” celebration in late September – a pizza pool party with flowing cocktails and sun-drenched vibes.
